weekend thought…it’s ok to be weird
March 2nd, 2007 @ 10:50 am
I found this verse last night, shortly before going to bed.
Accept the way God does things,
for who can straighten what he has made crooked? (Ecc 7:13)
And I thought…how funny. Here I am, trying to be perfect, when I know I’m weird and crooked. Chances are, you are too.
Weekend Thought...

My favorite quote is: “I’m number 3 and I don’t even try.”
It keeps me from freaking out and trying to be number one at stuff…stops me from being perfect. Besides…that quote makes me smile.
I am learning to accept that I am one weird dude…which is what makes me the loveable guy I am! Somedays are better that others.
The key is this: YOU ARE PERFECT. God sees you as perfect and holy and sinless because of Jesus. This is a mystery, but it is also truth.

WOW!! I needed to see that scripture. Everything is “crooked” right now in my life and I need to remember Ecc. 7:13
I don’t think it was by accident that I found your blog, God knew what he was doing when he guided me here.

Yep.
And when you’re in a community of people who accept and embrace crookedness, it becomes easier to let your crookedness out of the box. You can also help each other search out what needs to be straightened out, and what’s crooked because God made it that way.
Or, so it was with me.

So, thanks for thinking I’m crook. No, crooked? wait that’s not any better….LOL.
Anyway, great verse….I’ve read that as being called “the tuck”. A verse that you’ve probably just skimmed over before and all of a sudden it comes to you.
Thanks for untucking that for us.

I totally dig this verse. The church I attend actually did a long series on Ecclesiastes and once you get past the dismal, “Everything is meaningless!” vibe, it’s a huge book of hope. Well, the whole Bible is one, but you know what I mean, Vern?

I’m wired in ways you don’t even know! Some you don’t even want to know!
