    Come on!!

Are you guys the ones that like the Christmas trees up in the stores in September?

Here in San Diego there is no real seasonal change, but apples are just starting and leaves.. wait on snow and Christmas lists at least for another month!!!

Then I’ll bring out the red bermuda trunks out. :)

The holidays??? I’m ready for stinking SUMMER. It’s only been over 80 degrees a couple of times this year(I’m in London…) So depressing. I miss NC.

  13. Anne Jackson said,

It hasn’t been too hot so it’s not really the weather. I know a lot of people get depressed around Christmas but for some reason that is one of the few times I am consistently pumped! The smells, gatherings, cookies.

    Probably just the cookies.

    :)

Anne–I’ll take the cookies, but after that—no winter!!! Last year we had a huge snowstorm (foot+ of snow) Oct. 13th!! We often get snow into April and one year a foot in May!! I need to get out of here… ;)

this Christmas talk is quite ironic to me as our young adults ministry received a shipment of our FIRST EVER t-shirts and the printers changed our logo around so instead of red and gold… our logo is red and green! it totally looks like a Christmas shirt! haha! hmm.

I am typically ready for Christmas by September. I use to make myself hold out till September for all my favorite Christmas tunes, but by the time Thanksgiving came around I was done with Christmas. Now I wait till mid November, longing to hear Jars of Clay’s Drummer Boy or Amy Grants “Just hear those sleigh bells jingle’n ring ting tingel’n too, come on it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you..” (yes oldies but goodies)
Ahhh great! What did you have to go and bring up Christmas for?

My pastor is crazy. He was talking about just like 4 hours ago about how he can’t wait until October 1 so he can start decorating. He’s crazy for Christmas.

It needs to drop about 50 degrees and start snowing to put me in the mood. This 95 degree weather with 6000000% humidity sucks…and hardly can put a smile on one’s face.

As a sidenote, I hear Hobby Lobby is putting their Christmas stuff up way early this year. So you can go there and get krunk yo!…or just to look at their Christmas stuff.

    :)

I am SO not ready. I live in Michigan during the school year. I used to like winter. Now I dread six months of slopping through snow and digging my car out and arriving to class freezing and having sleet blow in my face every day. I love green grass and sunshine and being able to walk outside without suffering.

But maybe that’s just me… haha

ahhh man, me too!!! Everyone just seems more cheerful around the holidays. Perhaps its all of the holiday parties….that many consecutive parties any other time of the year would probably make me more cheerful anyways. :) But i am always ready for the record blizzard of the decade, too…i love those. :)

I also am ready for X-mas, I mean Christmas. Do you know that the X in Xmas is really a historical extension of the greek letter Chi. Xmas is really Chi-mas for Christmas. You knew that though. But I will be glad when we honor the birth of Jesus in a special way and time.

I saw your comment on http://www.kindlytalk.com about the KGB and Crying Woman–petty cool.

Thanks for making that confession Anne, I had secretly loaded some of my favorite Christmas songs from 4Him, Wayne Watson, Steven Curtis Chapman and of course Smitty just this last weekend.

I felt a little weird singing “Strange Way to Save the World” while riding the bike at the gym this week.

    Merry Christmas… ALL YEAR!

    Anne,

I love your site. I’m from North MS and now live in S.C. and Chrstimas is the only break we get from the heat. Can’t wait till Mad Church Disease! I think it will be a big present to a TON of church leaders. Like Christmas all over again.

    Thanks,

Christmas…let’s see, completely LOVE it, but living in South Florida it kind of sneaks up on you. There are many Christmases where it is still in the 80’s and it just doesn’t “feel” right. I am a KY chick by birth so I am used to some seasons…it is perpetually summer here! ;) (Not complaining though…I am sure there are tons who would switch places with me in the -15 degree weather. ;)

Bobby….I went to Starbucks at Baylor (yes…I know…Starbucks in a parking garage, but…) and the lady who works there was like, “You want orange mocha?!? You know pumpkin spice is back, right?? Now tell me which one you really want!” They’ve been known to hold the last bottle of pumpkin spice syrup back just for me!

Anne- This is amazing, your post simply said, “I’m ready for the holidays” and almost 40 responses, that’s impressive. The last time I saw the simple “Daddle” post it sparked me to blog about the child leash which actually got some response. Maybe I just need to add a post titled “Longhorns barely avoid upset” or “Sooners could have scored 100.” :-)
