It’s pretty bad when your state motto is “Oklahoma is OK” how bad is that? I can’t say too much though being from Alabama.

Is Oklahoma part of Canada?

Actually, your teepee will have electricity, but no running water. That’s next to the van down by the river.

My sister lives in Oklahoma and she would ask you, “why you would move to Oklahoma?”

OK, the teepee thing is just silly. Everyone knows that Oklahomans live in Conestoga wagons.

She’s moving to Oklahoma because we have Chili’s and Applebee’s other cool restaurants. That’s why. Duh.

In California we ask, “does it always have to be 75 degrees and sunny?” or “Is that Brad Pitt?”

Stacey and Jared: That’s Kansas not Oklahoma. Please don’t confuse the two. :) We also gave the world Reba McIntire, Vince Gill, Toby Keith(OK you can make fun of that one) and Garth Brooks just to name a few. :)

Just remember - we’re always on top of Texas! How many states have their own movie? Okies rock and you will be received with open arms and make friends you’ll have your whole lifetime. The door to our tee pee is always open! We’re just not home right now.
Kim - transplanted to Illinois, but an Okie at heart.

Funny how okies always bring up Texas. wonder why
Anne - you’ll love OKC. It’s a lot like Cowtown - booming, and a really nice cost of living. they love their football, country music, and have decent BBQ. (graduates from their major university also make great employees.)

Oklahoma is a great place to live! As long as it doesn’t ice over and break all of your trees and take out your power… or as long as the tornado misses your house… or as long as your town doesn’t flood suddenly. Yeah, Oklahoma is great!

Anne is moving to Oklahoma where she can support a college football team that wins the Big 12 and goes to a BCS Bowl game every year. Not just the year they had superman at quarterback.
What bowl is Texas playing in, I can’t remember!

I didn’t think or know that ‘okie’ was a bad term until I called one of my friends (from Oklahoma), “You’re an Okie..right?” He didn’t like it.
That was many years ago and we’re still friends though :)

Scott Williams is my kind of football fan, misguided, but passionate. Megan Eastland just wrote on my facebook, oh you know the Jacksons too. How do you explain internet friendships without sounding like a geek?

Okay don’t get mad at me…but, You all know why Texas doesn’t fall into the Gulf of Mexico, right?…because Oklahoma sucks!
Yeah, I know, my wife hates it when I use that one too. She’s from Oklahoma. :) (And I have, or used to have, a lot of friends from OK. :) )

I think it’s funnier that it’s coming from Texans…Just kidding!
When I moved to Oklahoma from Rhode Island I thought all my neighbors would have horses. And none of the streets would be paved.

No “will you ride your horse to work?” comments??
Born and raised here in OK - love it! But prefer the color orange compared to that overdone red!

Actually come to think of it, every state has its own stereotypes, I know at least people in the east think that people in Oregon live in a cabin and work as loggers while the women wear birkenstocks.
Biggest pet peeve is when people pronounce it oregawn..ugh.
but this is not about the Northwest, sorry for the hijacking :)

Yeah, I’m originally from Missouri (Don’t get started on the “Show Me” comments) but it drives me crazy when people pronounce Missouri as Mis-ur-a. It was always pronounced Misery where I lived! (No “A’s in the spelling of Missouri people!) :)
