who are you and what have you done with me?
January 9th, 2008 @ 10:11 am
there is something really weird in the water here in OKC.
i’m not sure what it is, but it has completely reworked my DNA.
anne jackson circa 2008 has taken me by surprise. she is, kind of, dare i say (i shall) more confident? she is, kind of, dare i say (i shall) more outgoing?
she is.
anne jackson circa 2006 would have never waved wildly at a stranger who she *thinks* she recognizes from facebook…she would have never talked for fifteen minutes to the lady in the lobby of her apartment…
there are a bunch of other little things i have done over the last couple of weeks, and in the last couple of days in particular, that would never have gone through my head and now those things seem more comfortable, more a fit.
wow.
needless to say, the past two days as i get settled in my office at lifechurch.tv have been nothing short of incredible. i’ve so enjoyed finally getting to meet you all, and thank you for making me feel so at home. (and for fixing my email a million times).
i heart this place.

That is where I’ve been! I’m gaining a little momentum too…confidence, courage, action. It feels good. I’ve missed that feeling of security. It feels good to be able to talk to strangers and to be out and about knowing that that hasn’t been the case for the past few years due to the overwhelming way that life can beat you up. I guess God is moving all over the country in the hearts of His people! Well done!

And I’m fully confident you’ll become quite rapid texter very soon. It just comes with being at LC.

sounds as if He has led you to OKC not just for a new ministry role, but to draw you into the “more” of anne jackson that He has intended for so long…:)
great to hear you have had such an affirming start to this new season!

Although I am also a loyal Texan at heart, I heart OKC, too.

I’m glad to hear you are coming more and more out of your shell there. New places have a way of doing that. It’s like…what do I have to lose? These people don’t know who I am…I can be who I want to be!
As for there being something in the water there…it’s likely…very likely. That is the grossest water I’ve ever had! No offense to the OKC dwellers who love their water…but it really has such a strange taste!

Yeah, but you haven’t been to the apple of God’s eye in Oklahoma…..Tulsa. We are a proud people, who reside among the hills and claim to be “artsy.” Good times, I expect to see you and your husband as you most likely have heard of our merits. *This was all supposed to be read with that guy that announces the movies voice…or Jack Handy’s voice.

YAY! I wanted to come by and see you yesterday, but realized I don’t know exactly where your new office is, or if that would be totally stalker-esque. :)
I felt the same way when I arrived in OKC 4 years ago. A new city has a way of doing that to you, I guess.

you even waved a stranger with a camera down in the parking lot of lifechurch!
;-)
new beginnings seem to have a way of allowing us to be more of who we really want to be, maybe this has been you all along.

I sent this to you on Twitter, but I don’t think you follow me so you may not have gotten it:
There is a Toy & Action Figure Musuem in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma (1 hour from OKC). Maybe a date idea for you and your hubby?
So, maybe Anne 2.0 will take her husband to go?

As a born and bred Oklahoman AND 2nd generation Edmondite, I would like to think we are just a friendly place that makes all the masses of people that have moved here in the last 20+ years feel welcome.
I am glad that you have felt more confident in the new year. I am enjoying your blog very much. You have no idea how blessed I have been by finding Cindy Beall’s blog from yours and Robin Storch has no idea how blessed I have been by finding your blog from hers and I found hers from another….okay…I probably just broke a bunch of blog rules but truly God is so cool to link together a bunch of His sheep through this new medium.
Welcome to Oklahoma and Edmond!
Blessings,
Vickie
