i love this girl. seriously. she is amazing and bright and beautiful and just amazing. did i say that already? well, she deserves it to be said twice.

libby works in our hilarious finance office (you would be shocked at what really goes on in there!!) and, did i say she is amazing? her blog is here. you know where to leave her love.

she writes -

Bigger Body Image

I struggle with ‘body image’. I have for a while now and this is definitely one of the main areas He has been working. My personal ‘body image’ has greatly improved recently and is much healthier and closer to His image. Thanks to Him, His breaking, and His Spirit. But lately God has been telling me ‘think bigger’ . . . ‘What?!? I don’t want to be bigger!’ J . . . ‘No, eternally bigger.’

That one always gets me – that ‘quit thinking about you, think about Him’ realization. So I started thinking about the organization of LifeChurch.tv. The way it functions. Its structure, purposes, goals, and staff. I really have a passion for it - the organizational body. . . . ‘Eternally Bigger!!!’ ‘Biggest!!’

‘Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it . . .’ I Corinthians 12:27

Gut check! I wonder what kind of impact we all could make if we focused together being the Body of Christ.

‘ . . . And now I will show you the most excellent way.’ I Corinthians 12:31

What body gets most of your focus?

I just know it was totally meant to be for Anne to select you!!! I can relate to the body of Christ with this quick story: I just recently experienced helped a couple move from their 2-story apt….focusing together regarding their move to Delaware……The Body of Christ was experienced, invigorated, and strengthened with all power, ideal harmony, wisdom, peace, as we conducted ourselves - in union and conformity and they just kept calling it “stuff” but to me it was helping handle their personal belongings with kindness, gentle ways and patience. Was the Body of Christ challenged?…definitely in word and deed! Did we put on love working TOGETHER? Absolutely! (Your blog is fabulous! I need your positive writings!)

I struggled with body image for most of my life, including struggling with eating disorders, etc. I learned all the “info”, was taught all the ways to overcome it all—yet only really healed and put it all behind me when my focus changed from my body to the body of Christ. After years (ya, I’m old ;) )of trying and failing, when that focus changed, everything else changed within months.

    great words, libby!

the struggle for me even several years into my walk with Christ is remembering that this is not our home. if we were to draw a scale, our time on this earth likely would not even be a recognizable portion.

yet, i spent a bunch of minutes on banana republic’s website yesterday trying to figure out how i could buy a sweater i want.

    thanks…

Isn’t the Body of Christ so awesome? I love that it connects people like you and me and all your readers from across thousands of miles through a blog. We all have a body in common that we can work on! How cool is that?

WhaaHoo! Great choice on a guest blogger Anne…I am personally a huge fan of Miss Libby and her blog (wink, smiley face). You girls both rock, and thanks for the thoughts Libby. Great perspective. I know when I try and think of myself as a part of the whole- I am humbled by how often I fail the body. Sometimes the body needs my mouth, my hands, my heart…and sometimes all I act like is the tooshie :)
