i haven’t died
July 1st, 2008 @ 4:37 pm
i haven’t died. i promise. we are still waiting for our internet to be hooked up at home (thursday…as i cross my fingers) and my computer for work should arrive tomorrow (again, crossing my fingers - it was supposed to be in today!)
it has been interesting not being online for the last few days. i have a lot of email to catch up on (21 down, 19 to go and that isn’t happening tonight, sorry!)
i am sure my subscribers and stats have tanked (i refuse to look) but for the six of you still hanging in there, thank you. i appreciate it.
chris and i have spent the last few days exploring nashville and our neighborhood. last night we had coffee with our friend spence and trotted off to a suprise birthday party after that. we really have felt so loved and welcome and we have yet to buy any food other than cereal because our fridge has been stocked due to the kindness of others.
(thank you)
today is my first day at cross point and it has been a blast!
the break has allowed my brain some down time so once i am computered and interwebbed up, i can’t wait to get back into the swing of things. i also found out that they are shipping me back the edited manuscript of mad church disease this week…so i am pumped to see what they have done to make my words make sense.
in the mean time, i feel like this blog should serve a purpose…so, let’s all pray for each other, alright?
list your requests below and we shall pray!

Seeing as how I already shared some with you, I’ll just leave it at this: immediate financial needs and for the details of a new business opportunity to all fall into place for my husband.

i’m still with you Anne! and so happy to hear your move has gone so well.
i’m going on week 7 of bed rest, still have low amniotic fluid. and our baby still has one blocked kidney and extra fluid in her brain ventricles. but there is a lot of great specialists involved in our care so i am grateful for that. they think they’ll take her at around 37 weeks so i only have about 5 to go! we are just praying for her health and development and for God to help me to trust Him and feel His comfort with all of these unknowns.

I’ll be selfish and say, “pray for my family. I chipped my tooth this morning and got the Dumb & Dumber look going”
Wife isn’t too happy. We had big family plans for our economic stimulus check.

I’m praying for you. If anyone feels inclined to pray for me, they can pray that I will loosen up. I’ve been extremely uptight the last couple of days with my kiddos. My son is driving me up the wall. He’s doing nothing different. I’m just moody and tired, and I’m letting it affect my parenting.

Anne:
Although off topic, I’d just like to say welcome to Nashville and I hope you’re adjusting well. I’m sure I will meet you pretty soon due to my frequent trips to the church office (I work like 3 blocks away).
Sounds like you’ve got some good folks looking after ya but if you and hubby need anything then let me know.

I am moving from Nashville to Maine in August for a job. Eeek!
Prayers for moving, the transition, and the ability to reach out to complete strangers in order to not be lonely.
Apparently, God takes you seriously when you complain about being inert and needing a challenge.

Taking a group to the DR in two weeks. Pray they get it. Pray they realize being a follower of Christ does not mean they go to church on Sunday. Pray they are made very uncomfortable by what they see and that God provides an avenue for them to channel their uncomfort into a passion and a life change.

Hi Anne, glad they’re looking after you well - wouldn’t expect anything less from them! Hospitality is definitely a gift they have in Nashville - they made me feel like a king!
So, they’re letting me, the worship guy, loose in the pulpit this weekend, preaching at all three services, so please pray that God gets through to me and shows me the way forward.
With you all the way.
Mark.

fyi - praying for each of you, especially nicky, right now - may God give all of you strength and hope and peace.
please pray for my son as he spends the next 6 weeks in Arkansas and then has 2 days to get to Nashville from Texas to start school at Belmont.
also, that he may find a church gig as he’s also a professional guitar player and singer - as is everyone else in Nashville

Anne,
I am still so flipping excited that you are going to be a Tennesseean. You are living in my state capitol!
This is sort of a prayer request for a friend and me at the same time. An 80-something lady in my church is finishing her journey and will be with our Lord within the next six months to a year. The saddest thing is she is fully concious and knows what is happening, even talking to those of us she loves about it to “get us ready”. She is weak and falling and having a lot of trouble breathing.
I’m just asking you remember this saint that she will find rest and peace and comfort in these final days and that you’d remember me as I try to minister to her family and honor her in her last few months this side of eternity.
Thanks Mrs. Jackson,
Aaron

Welcome to Nashvegas and CP! Can’t wait to meet you!
Please pray for a dear family friend, Teresa Bradley, who was badly injured in a car accident yesterday. She was airlifted from my hometown in West TN to Vanderbilt where she is still in critical, but stable condition. She has many broken bones and had surgery to remove her spleen. The outlook is positive but recovery will be a very long process.
Thanks!

My girlfriend’s sister fell off a curb while carrying her 5 week old baby girl. Luckily the baby didn’t fall out of her arms until after she hit the ground. The baby fractured her skull in two different places. This happened two days ago and the baby has just been discharged from the hospital. It looks like she will be alright. Please pray that there won’t be any complications and praise God that there were so many friend and family that prayed for her and that the injury wasn’t as bad as it could have been. The baby’s name is Izzy Lovelady.

I feel so lucky to be engaged to such a wonderful woman but, prayers are always appreciated, especially because I am sure neither of us have any clue what we are really getting in to. :) haha.
Anyways, Thanks! Talk to you all later!

Please pray that as we plan to come home in October that we would be wise in our relationships and who we meet with. That we would manage our time in a God honoring way and that we would be fruitful in gaining new support so to stay here as long as God sees fit.

I’d love it if ya’ll would pray for me to end my sabbatical well. Some church issues have cropped up that have required my attention - we’re in the interim process - and it’s really bothered me and made me very anxious.
also pray that I will hear a clear word of direction from the Lord for some things He’s speaking to me right now….

Anne - great to meet you at the main campus this week. Although I won’t see you much (since I am at Dickson) I am sure you will be a wonderful addition to the staff!
I would love prayers about leadership right now. I feel I have some big choices to make regarding where I will be in the future and I am seeking God for His wisdom.
