Girl you look good in the morning! Rock on! Isn’t Nashville teh best whe it comes to music? I love the creative community we live in! It is 10:00am and I am on my first cup of coffee…I have a late night Olympic watching hangover!

Last time I acted 20? My wife says I’m not even out of Jr. High yet. She’d *like* it if I acted 20.

About 2 or 3 weeks ago - we had a Christmas in July party with our friends. Spiced it up by making all Indian dishes; even the turkey was done with more spices than I can remember. Did Christmas song quiz, crazy gift exchange where you can steal someone else’s already opened gift instead of taking one from under the tree and generally played games and had silly fun until 4am. Then I slept until noon.
Anne - the other day you asked if what you are experiencing is what 30 is like. Well cheer up…this is what 50 is like. Fun!!!

Nick - I hear you. But please be encouraged; life does return after children. We are just coming out of the stage where all your energy and attention is invested in your kids and, although I wouldn’t change a thing about the past years with our 2 girls, it sure is fun to have a life again. I am having fun with my husband again, doing things together -just the two of us.

Last Saturday: drove from San Antonio to Austin to catch The New Frontiers (beautiful, beautiful band, by the way). Left around 7 PM, in bed by 2 AM. We were probably the only ones in the club not under 25. Felt oooold and tired the next morning. But it was worth it. Do check out their 1st album, Mending, you will not regret it.

I hear the “kids” comment.
But my wife and I did act 20 when the last Harry Potter came out. Went to the midnight showing. Liked the movie (but the books are all better). But the next day sucked!
We’re definitely NOT in college anymore!

the olympics, though, are definitely keeping me up past my normal bed time!

20? That’s many moons ago. I’m so old I used to hang out with Moses
btw. Say “hugemugofchai” five times. Start sounding funny after the third one.

what do you mean? I am 20 - at least on the inside……
I act 20 when our praise team stays up too late, has too much caffeine and gets silly……plays games, karaokes, etc
I sometimes act 20 when my kids are all home and we play Wii or go out late to the movies….
I love acting 20……..i’m not as uptight now as I was when I was in fact 20.
look around you….i’m the middle aged woman down front with the kids.

I’m 38. Not sure about acting 20, but I was 7 for a few hours at my Son’s Birthday party last night. And then spent the rest of the evening sagging in my chair like I was 50.

The last time I acted like I was 20 was on Monday night. My friend came to visit from out of town and dressed up like we were forever 21 and hit the town. I had a kitchen pass and enjoyed every minute of it. I was EXHAUSTED!!!, when I went to work the next day. Oh the 30’s…oh how you make me pay…

Wow. I just realized this topic makes me sad. I never got to ‘act like a 20 year old’. I didn’t know it even bothered me until now. I was employed since 8th grade, consuming weekends, evenings and summers. Worked my way through college and early marriage. I stopped being employed when I needed to be a round-the-clock caregiver. The persons needing care have changed over the years, but there has always been someone who needed more care than average and I have been designated ‘responsible person’. I don’t resent it, but this topic sure kicked off the thoughts of “I wonder what it would have been like . . . ” and I am almost 50.
